So I'm still trying to wrap my mind about this one, and sadly I lost the link to prove this, but trust me, it's true.
Alright so we all know Activision right? Their most recent title being Call Of Duty: Black Ops. The game sold more than any other ever. EVER. And whats the best part of the Call of Duty games? Multiplayer. Now, because Activision is stupid, they have something called dedicated servers (most game companies have these) this is where they create games for other people to play, but they only have this. Meaning you can't make your own game for you and your friends to play online in.
Now, this is all fine and good right? Except, if anyone wants to play online, they have to use the Activison dedicated servers right. Following me so far? Good.
Here's where it gets interesting. (Now this is all I could understand out of what someone posted earlier) Apparently some dude wrote a huge letter to Activision about how buggy and glitchy the servers are, and how they should be fixed. Then (again, because Activision is stupid), they proceeded to make some twitter post or some other "hip" thing people do, saying they plan to remove all dedicated servers which support the PS3 version of the game.
Coincidence or not, if this is true, then you will no longer be able to play Black Ops online on your PS3. And truth of the matter, theres nothing anyone can really do about that. So all in all, life sucks if you like that game.
Sup? So I'm Matt, and this is my game blog. It'll have updates about games that I'm making as well as random gaming news that I find interesting. Also, I'm going to try to put all the games I make, onto this blog, but if that doesn't work, then I'll link you to a site that they're posted on.
Current Statis...
Okay, so heres the deal, I've made 1 fully functional and complete game so far, and I'm working on a second. Keep in mind, the first one is the tutorial to the software I use, and the first game I've ever done.
Game 1: The Stereotypical Fruit Game
Objective: Click the fruit and don't click the bombs, click the bombs, and you die. Simple enough.
Controls: Use the mouse.
Notes: Okay, so this game is up and running, but I'm working on trying to figure out how to make it a game you can play straight off the web, without having to download it.
Game 2: Viral Infection
Objective: Progress through each level without dying, and make it to the portal to proceed to the next level
Controls: Arrow keys to move, up to jump, and use the mouse for the menus.
Notes: I'm still currently working on this game, so all thats left is about three levels, which I should be done by next class (Thursday) and I should have it up and running that day too.
I'll keep you guys posted about any news of my games, and also put in links or the games themselves here, sometime this week.

Let's get you up to speed...
So a fair bit has happend in the past couple of days in terms of gaming news, so here's a long post detailling all of it.
Battlefield 3 Announcement:
Early this week at GDC 2011, Battlefield 3 was announced.
"Battlefield 3 is set to launch sometime this year. Gamers who picked up the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor also scored an invitation to the BF3 beta, but no details have been revealed as to when that will take place."

F.E.A.R. 3 Delayed:
F.E.A.R. 3 was originally set to launch March 22nd this year, but recently, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that the game will be delayed and is now looking a release sometime in May. No exact date was given, but Best Buy has listed pre-orders on their website, claiming that the game will be released on May 24th of this year.
Limbo Leading The Pack:
The Xbox 360 Live Arcade game Limbo, is leading the pack with the most nominations in the 11th annual Game Developers Choice Awards. It earned a huge 7 nominations, including Game Of The Year, and is up against contending games such as Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect 2.
Motorstorm: Apocalypse Set For April:
The fourth installement of this adrenaline-rushed racing game is set to release April 12th this year. The game also ships being able to be played in 3D, for those of you with your fancy 3D tvs.
Killzone 3 Good To Go:
The highly anticipated Killzone 3 is good to go, and will launch on schedule on Febuary 22nd, this year. Note that this is good news considering many didn't think the game would be released on time, considering the second one was delayed for like 4 years or something like that.
Well, that's everything as for now, happy Sund- aw shit it's Sunday. Okay, well this sucks.

C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E-S-O-N-G song
So I was at a friends house, and we were watching movies, when suddenly the power went out. We then light a candle, and placed it in the middle of the floor, to which I said, it looks like a campfire. After this, we proceeded to play the guitar and sing the "Campfire Song - Song".
For those of you who don't know:
Anyways, sort of random, but whatever, food for thought.
Hate it when that happens...
So, sadly, I did not finish my game on schedule, and it has been delayed to Monday.
I know, this may come to a shock for some of you, but I was doing a lot of testing and designing with the game, so it took the majority of my class time.
Fortunatly, I will be able to finish it on Monday for sure, due to two things which need to be completed:
1) Do some technical work so you can't get out of the map on the last level.
2) Get a soundtrack.*
*I want to find some kind of 8-bit music that would totally fit with my game, something thats like a 30 second, looping track would be pretty sweet, but I can't promise anything.
Anyways, game will be up soon, hope y'all enjoy it.

Quick post.
Okay, this is gonna be quite, so yeah.
Cool. So today, I left math class to "go to the bathroom" which was really going to my CADD class to talk to my teacher for 10-15 minutes. Anyways, this lead us to the conversation as to whats wrong with schools nowadays, and blah blah blah blah blah. Whats the point of all this? I'm apparently not allowed to download the engine for the next game I want to make, onto our school computers. And if I did, then I'd have to send in a work order describing why I need it. Plus face it, work orders can take forever.
So my teacher and I kept talking, and he said to find a computer or laptop on craigslist (considering I don't have a laptop) and then just use that. Simple enough right?
Just now, I found an ad on Craigslist for a Dell Inspiron 4100 Laptop for *drumroll* only $50. So hopefully all goes well with this.
By the way, I don't even care how shitty this thing will be, it'll work.
They see me rollin',
They hatin'

A bit of homework...
Sadly, as you may have figured out by now, I have yet to determine how to put The Stereotypical Fruit Game up in a way that you can just go right in and play. Although, I found numerous forums and blogs which (I think) will give me the answer as to how to solve this problem. The only downside of this being that I have a crap load of reading to do.
On a brighter note, made some progress with my second game, Viral Infection, and it only needs about 2-3 more levels, so I should have it done on Thursday and it will most likely be uploaded the same day.
Cool.

The Stereotypical Fruit Game
Alright, well here's the first one, The Stereotypical Fruit Game. Sadly, even though it's on the website, you have to download it to play it. I'm working on changing this so that it then becomes something you can play straight off the web, without download.
Anyways, for anyone who has the software to play this, you can try it out.

Good news, bad news, and more good news.
Well, happy Monday, to whoever reads this.
Okay, so good news! I figured out how to plan out the last 4 parts of my latest game, "Viral Infection" and I plan on publishing "The Stereotypical Fruit Game" tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well with this, and you guys will be able to play my games by (maybe?) the end of the week.
And some bad news... Well, it's not that bad. Sadly nothing too exciting is going on in the world of information, technologie and gaming as off today, but theres always tomorrow!
Oh, but look, more good news! So I have a plan as for the next game that I will make! And trust me, this will be super legit if it all works out well. Now, I'm keeping the majority of this project a secret as I want this to be a surprise for a bunch of people. How do you know this will be good? Because now, it's not just me working on this, nope, my friend is also going to help me out with this so if all goes well, we might just have something great here. I'll give you guys a hint and just see if anyone can pick up on what this is from...

In the coldest parts of space...
So this is a bit old... But whatever, still cool:
If you played the first Dead Space, then you know how freaking scary this game was. I still need to beat it before the second one comes out, but regardless, Dead Space multiplayer sure looks pretty intense.
Totally Random
So yeah, this is irrelevant to everything, but I found it and thought it was insanly cool. And the music is decent too. So check this out:
This makes me want to go buy a white board, and do stop motion videos.

Glasses-free 3D TV?
Okay so exciting news, Sony had a tech demo at CES: 11 of their 46" 3D TV. Well, whats so great about that? You don't need glasses.
Although it's still in early prototypes, you can basically sit anywhere in the room, and the 3D effect will work for everyone, without the need of glasses.
This is a huge step forward as far as inovation goes, but we'll have to wait 1 or 2 years before even seeing this thing for sale. "Seeing this thing for sale" get it? Because you see it, and it's all 3D and- Oh shut up.

Mass Effect 2
Just found this:
"PlayStation 3 owners out there who will be picking up Mass Effect 2 on January 18 will be getting the game’s pre-order bonuses from the prior release last year. Both the Terminus armor and the Blackstorm gun will be available for free download on the PlayStation Store until February 23rd."
Cool story bro.
I want to pick this up, but I would like to have played the first one before diving straight into this.

Killzone 3 Story trailer
This game looks so good, can't wait for it. An added plus that the story seems somewhat good this time around, considering the story in Killzone 2 was practically non-existant. Throw in some co-op campaign and you've good a contender for 'Game of the Year' for 2011.
